On Friday, after word spread far & wide thanks to this very message board, Eddie V posted the following on his Facebook page:
"What a day! Call-waiting going off 12 times talking to Jobo, my agent, radio stations, columnists, Harry Caray's people! Nice to be boiling!"
When somebody then asked when he would say which station it is, Volkman said:
"The radio station we'll be on says THEY want to make the announcement, so we have to abide by them. If I say anything before that, it might not happen, & (I'm) not taking any chances...sorry!"
When asked if somebody's son could intern with them on the new show, Eddie said:
"...nothing is locked in yet, but we ARE gonna need some help when we get our next gig..."
Clearly there is not a 100% deal. This may be a fill-in or try-out deal that is coming in March, not a full-time hire. Most of all, neither Eddie or JoBo will say anything in advance. You will just have to wait until a certain radio station is ready to make an announcement. It may be in a week or two, but it may be many months from now, too.
