: Chuck passed last Friday in Arizona after a long illness. He was 60.

: In the early 1970s, he hosted Underground -- a nightly counterculture news and interview show -- on WSNS-TV 44. The show was soon syndicated to other markets.

: When Underground ended, he became an investigative reporter for NBC, where he won seven Emmy Awards.

: He was forced to retire because of his health.
