How's this for a little irony?

Among the eight Silver Dome Awards presented Tuesday to WFLD-Channel 32 by the Illinois Broadcasters Association was one for Mark Suppelsa as "best TV anchorperson."

It'll be fascinating to see how the Fox-owned station handles the honor in light of the fact that Suppelsa quit last March after five years as Channel 32's top news anchor.

Now that the right-to-match clause in Suppelsa's Fox contract has lapsed, all signs point to him joining Tribune Co.-owned rival WGN-Channel 9.
