Kudos to Tribune Co.-owned news/talk WGN-AM (720) for stepping up to spearhead a major fund-raising campaign among Midwest radio stations to help bail out victims of the recent flooding.

Partners in WGN's "Neighbors in Need 2008" effort are KMOX-AM in St. Louis, WCCO-AM in Minneapolis, WTMJ-AM in Milwaukee and KFGO-AM in Fargo, N.D.

"We look out for others in the Midwest," said Tom Langmyer, vice president and general manager of WGN (and former boss of KMOX). "Radio has a way of reaching people that's unmatched by any other medium."
