Eric Logan is the new executive VP for Harpo, stepping into a newly created post to oversee a slew of the company's different divisions, including Harpo Radio, Harpo Print and Harpo Retail. Logan, who leaves XM's executive VP of programming and broadcast operations post after just under four years, will report to Harpo Productions president Tim Bennett. In addition to talent relations and management, Logan will put the pedal to the metal on Harpo's foray into the digital and mobile arenas and work with Harpo Development on new media.

"This is the opportunity of a lifetime," Logan tells R&R. He will finish out the month of July at XM, then pack for a move to Chicago, where he will start at Harpo in mid-August.

Prior to his run at XM, Logan spent a year as president of programming for Citadel and a decade at Infinity Broadcasting, where he was VP of programming when he left in May 2003, and had worked as OM of WUSN/Chicago and WQYK-AM & FM & WYUU/Tampa.

"Over the past several years in our exciting partnership with XM Radio, we've seen Eric shine," said Bennett. "From his ability to paint a picture of possibilities for Harpo in satellite radio to his gifted capability in working with both talent and teams, he has earned the respect of management across our growing company."
