WMAQ Chicago plans 'Back to School Supply Drive'


NBC O&O WMAQ Chicago is planning a "Back to School Supply Drive" on Wednesday, August. 27. The supplies collected will benefit two Chicago area schools.

The event will take place at Studio 5 at 401 N. Michigan Ave. It will kick off with NBC5 News Today at 4:30 a.m. and run until 11:30 a.m.

WMAQ will be asking people to come down and donate school supplies, from pencils to backpacks. All supplies collected will be distributed to two Chicago public schools, Kelvyn Park High School and South Loop School.

The plans for the day will include guests from Chicago Public Schools, community leaders and teachers, entertainment and fun give-aways.
