Obama vs. the other guy: From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. next Monday through Thursday, all of the programs on WVON-AM 1690 will originate from Denver, site of the Democratic National Convention.

Hitting the road will be "The Roland S. Martin Show," "The Santita Jackson Show," "Keeping It Real With Al Sharpton," "The Cliff Kelley Show" and Matt McGill and Perri Small's "The Matt & Perri Show." WVON's road to next month's Republican convention in St. Paul will be considerably less crowded, as only Martin and Charles Butler will represent the station there.

"Our decision to devote more time to the Democratic convention is based on research which proves that our audience is overwhelmingly Democratic," LaMont Watts, WVON's program director, explained by e-mail. "Couple that with the historical significance of the convention, and taking into consideration that Sen. Barack Obama is from Chicago, we wanted to add our unique local spin to this historic moment."
