CBS2's Mark Malone is back

Mark Malone, former sports anchor at CBS-owned WBBM-Channel 2, has signed on with Westwood One Radio as a weekly NFL football analyst.

Malone, who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets and San Diego Chargers before shifting to broadcasting, was among the high-profile personalities who were forced out last March in a wave of layoffs at Channel 2. Technically, he's still under contract through April 2009.

Malone starts his radio gig this weekend, under a deal via agent Steve Mandell.
