It doesn't seem to be much of a surprise that WMAQ (NBC 5)'s Bruce Wolf is being shown the door. His shifts from traffic reporter to morning show host to sports anchor showed definite instability.

Due to budget cuts at Channel 5, Wolf has been told that his contract will not be renewed when it expires Feb. 17.

Bruce Wolf has been a lifelong Chicago broadcaster and joined NBC 5 in '06 after more than 18 years as sports anchor at WFLD Fox 32.

he continues on Jonathon Brandmeier's morning show at Emmis classic rock WLUP (97.9).
