WLS Has A Cow

Erich "Mancow" Muller returns to the Chicago airwaves on Monday after a 27 month hiatus as he joins Citadel talk WLS/Chicago in the 9-11 a.m. slot replacing host Jerry Agar. The new show will be in addition to his Talk Radio Network Enterprises syndicated morning show, "Mancow's Morning Madhouse."

Muller was heard in the market on Emmis alternative WKQX for eight years and was on then-rocker WRCX before that giving him close to 12 years on-air in the Chicago market.

Muller will not be joined by the cast of characters from his morning show. WLS PD Kipper McGee confirms that newsperson Laura Miles will continue in her role and that his first week will include former WBBM-AM morning anchor Pat Cassidy, which McGee describes as "kind of a welcome." Beyond that, whether or not there will be other people on the air with Muller is up for grabs according to McGee.

The show will be "a review of the day’s news," McGee says, calling the show "the next generation of Mancow." He explains, "Mancow has decided it's time to evolve and this is another step in that evolutionary process."

So far, it is not clear what will happen to the final hour of Muller's syndicated show that has traditionally gone until 10 a.m. CT.
