Our Top 10 Kathy & Judy Convention Moments!
by Kathy

Some people have done it 8 or 9 times, some just one or two, and some not at all ... no, it's not a Sex Thursday conversation -- we're talking about the Kathy and Judy Convention! And like all good things, it has come to an end. After ten years of seminars and entertainment and silly shows with other WGN personalities, we decided that ten years was probably a good place to call it a day (or, more accurately, a weekend). But here's our Top Ten List of Convention Moments We'll Never Forget:

10. The Uppity Blues Women, Four B!tchin' Babes, Marc Salem, Chapter 6, Broadway in Chicago...all of our great Saturday performances!

9. The year one of our girlfriends slipped on the ice outside the hotel, chipped her front tooth in half, got sent immediately to K& J's dentist down the street and returned with a temporary fix in time for Friday's dinner and the rest of the convention!

8. Watching girlfriends be kids at the Moon Walk, Bungee Race games and everything else the Activity Room had to offer.

7. Our wonderful early morning walks in the freezing cold and our great yoga sessions to get the day started.

6. Every year, the mad rush for seats at the front of the ballroom for meals (and for many conventions, Countryside's amazing themed centerpieces)

5. All of our seminars, including "Savage Love" columnist Dan Savage and his mom, the late Judy Sobiesk, cohosting a wonderful seminar. And, let's not forget the packed seminar featuring a gynecologist and several interesting vibrating things...

4. The first year's disastrous "mashed potato bar"

3. The year former interns Jenny Eck and Mike Stephen dressed as fairy tale characters -- their first step on the road to eventually falling in love. They're getting married in 2009!

2. Being in bed with Steve Bertrand and John Williams. On stage.

1. And finally, the year that we gave out the Rhonda Awards for movie scenes featuring WGN personalities, Judy Pielach finally won after having been nominated and losing four times ... and stepped (somewhat unsteadily) to the microphone, leaned in, and said, "Well, it's about ----ing time!!"
