Cruickshank To Leave CBC For Toronto Star

CBC NEWS Publisher JOHN CRUICKSHANK is exiting the network after a little more than one year to return to the newspaper business as Publisher of the TORONTO STAR, effective JANUARY 1st.

CRUICKSHANK, who replaces interim Publisher DON BABICK (who in turn replaced JAGODA PIKE last month) at TORONTO's largest daily, has headed the newsrooms at the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES. GLOBE AND MAIL, and VANCOUVER SUN and reported at the KINGSTON (ON) WHIG-STANDARD and the MONTREAL GAZETTE. He had been at the SUN-TIMES since 2002 before joining the CBC in SEPTEMBER 2007.
