: yeah, that's the reason why it's huge. it's the only local NYE program there is. chicago likes local. NBC is a national replay, FOX is a national snoozefest. CBS chooses to do *nothing* at all. : i think this would be an excellent opportunity for bruno to step in with next year at CBS2. create a program that will blow the bore of ABC7's out of the water. im surprised he didnt get something together for this year. though he seems to be the kind of guy who wants things to be *perfect* before executing (like how he got rid of the "heart of chicago" positioner) : : : They do it because it owns in the ratings... : : It does? Do you happen to have any #s to back up that statement? I'd be really interested to see how it stacks up against the 5 or 6 other "countdown" shows available at the time. I do realize it's the only truly live, local Chicago broadcast and I give them a high five for that, but I too wish they would all sit down and tackle the blunders that the show has had for years and years.
