Former WLS-A/CHICAGO and WDTW-A/DETROIT talk host NANCY SKINNER has pulled out of the race for Congress in MICHIGAN. SKINNER announced MONDAY that she will not run, citing the need for "enormous resources to beat an incumbent," Rep. JOE KNOLLENBERG (R-MI). SKINNER, who lost to KNOLLENBERG in 2006's election, will return to her consulting business, SKINNER COMMUNICATIONS.

Meanwhile, CBS News WBBM-A/CHICAGO BEARS pre- and post-game show co-host and former player JIM SCHWANTZ announced that he will run for mayor of PALATINE, IL in Spring 2009, challenging longtime incumbent RITA MULLINS in the non-partisan election.
