Melinda Tichelaar, who has been serving as executive producer of WFLD-Channel 32's "Good Day Chicago" for only a few weeks, went above and beyond the call of duty Friday.

She was among eight staffers who had their heads shaved to show their support for pediatric cancer research.

It was the fourth consecutive year that news anchor Patrick Elwood led Channel 32's St. Baldrick's Day fund-raising effort for cancer hospitals nationwide.
