Just a couple of weeks back, WBEZ won numerous awards from the Illinois Associated Press Broadcasters Association. They just picked up a few more awards, this time from the Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters Association, with most going to northwestern Indiana native, Michael Puente. Winning 1st & 2nd place honors this time were:
Best Reporter - Local Radio: Honorable mention, Michael Puente, WBEZ, Chicago.
Best Continuous Coverage of a Single Event: Second, Michael Puente, Cate Cahan, WBEZ, Chicago.
Best News Series - Metro Radio: Second, Michael Puente, Cate Cahan, WBEZ, Chicago.
Best General News - Metro Radio: First, Michael Puente, WBEZ, Chicago.
Best Enterprise Story - Metro Radio: Second, Michael Puente, Cate Cahan, WBEZ, Chicago.
Best Feature - Metro Radio: First, Michael Puente, WBEZ, Chicago.
