If Howard Stern does it and Imus is looking to do it again, then actor-comedian Steve Harvey wants to know, "Why not me?"

Harvey, host to a top-rated national radio show heard in 50 markets, is itching to get his show simulcast on television.

"I hope the show gets picked up," Harvey said in an interview the other day in his WBLS 107.5 studios in Manhattan before launching into another of his bits.

In this one, listeners called in to get advice from Dr. Melanye Maclin, a dermatologist who does a weekly segment.

One of Harvey's characters, Sister Odell, a trash-talking church lady, briefly hijacked the calls.

Odell told one pretend listener, who said she was blind and worried about her hair, to get over it.

As is usual in the morning drive-time market, the humor was raw and politically incorrect.

"Who told you your hair was messed up?" Sister Odell joked, reminding the caller she can't see her own hair anyway.

Bringing "The Steve Harvey Morning Show" to the small screen would mean Harvey may have to change some things.

"I will take advantage of the visualization and add a few things," he told the Daily News.

Harvey's radio show went national two years ago and is heard on WBLS Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. In between comedy bits, it also features celeb guests and music.

Harvey, who has been in movies and sitcoms and was once host of "Showtime at the Apollo," hopes a recent pilot videotaping of the show will persuade execs to put him back on TV.

"We're going to spice it up a little," he vowed.

Harvey said he may even grab a hand-held "church fan," put on a different hat and don a pair of reading glasses when he's doing Sister Odell on the boob tube.
