BONNIE'S BACK: Chicago's own Bonnie Hunt hits town to catch her beloved Cubbies' home opener Monday, but in a phone chat this week the North Side native told me her dream of bringing her talk show back to Chicago is getting closer to reality.

Before last fall's launch of ''The Bonnie Hunt Show'' (2 p.m. weekdays, WMAQ-Channel 5), the comedian and actress was promised she could do the show from Our Town, ''if it made it through the first two seasons'' in L.A.

Now renewed for a second season for next fall, Hunt told me she might even be able to move up that timetable if ratings hold up, ''and bring back to Chicago even before the end of season two.'' Fingers crossed!
