I agree with Lync, Kovas never had any intention of building these two stations. They got the CP's for WCGO and WKKD, knowing
they would never build them,IMHO. Their sole intention was to knock these stations off the air, as well as WMCW, just to get the
upgrade for WONX(now WCGO).

I would also like to see WCFJ take on a format the same as, or similar to the former 1600. There is not more than a few hours of
brokered time on right now. It appears that most of the day it is just an automated jukebox. Even if they don't go with the "Timeless"
format, why not at least play the same type of music that WCGO played, instead of the all over the board music they are playing
now. They would have a chance of garnering a loyal audience, as well as some loyal advertiser's who were with WCGO for years.
In terms of the realistic coverage(not Radio-Locator predicted coverage, which in the case of WCFJ's nightime coverage is not
very accurate.)they are hitting the same geographic area. I guess it's Newsweb's choice, the chance to build a loyal audience,
even though it may not be in the target demo, make some money off the station, or continue to let it be stagnant. On average
they broker about 5 hours of their day, if that, on most days. They are generally on the air from 4:30AM to Midnight or 2:00AM,
depending on if Rebel Radio is on or not. I know a lot of things in radio don't make a lot of sense, but, this seems like a no-brainer.
I think I should also point out that WCFJ's lack of brokered shows is not really due to the current economic crisis, it has been like
this for years already. They could continue to broker the shows they have now, and just program the time that is not being sold,
to the former WCGO audience.

: WKKD is not in the FCC database anymore either(that I can find). So I think they turned that one in also. I predicted no one would ever build a four tower directional station in the quad cities.
