Is it really necessary to make it ethnically diverse? Give me a decent newscast and I don't care if you have 2 hillbilles from East Tennesee anchoring the damn thing. I'm so sick of the racial profiling.
: A potential problem for the WBBM-TV newsroom is that they are becoming less & less ethnically diverse. There is no longer any Asian contributors at all, only 1 Hispanic contributor, only 2 African-Americans in full-time roles, with 6 African-American contributors overall. For an organization trying to claw its way out of the deep Joe Ahern-induced ratings hole, failing to connect with an overwhelming portion of the viewing audience via its on air staff is NOT the way to go.
