Wiedeman is destined for a network gig....
probably within 2 years, thanks to the
exposure the Hawks are now getting.
: Lots of talk recently concerning sadness that long time Blackhawks announcer Pat Foley will no longer be involved for the remainder of the playoffs(Due to Versus and NBC exclusivity). Now I love Pat and vividly remember rhe first game he broadcast here in '81 and all his tremendous calls since but..I like WGN's John Wiedeman a whole lot. His broadcasting style fits what I enjoy...a crisp, accurate and exciting delivery mixed in with a little over-the-top enthusiasm. Foley's goal calls are good (Not what he used to bring to the table but he's a bit older now) but Wiedeman lets it all go! Maybe way to much sometimes but he's a fun listen and truly makes me not miss Pat as much as others may. However I truly wish we could somehow have both but oh well.
