: : Naperville's North Central College radio station competes with the big guys : As a North Central graduate and former WONCer, I can say that the station's greatness starts with John Madormo. The guy knows just about everything there is to know about radio, and TV as well. I probably owe my radio employment to him, because I doubt I would have gotten to where I am without the knowledge he shares with his students. : Also, part of what makes the station so great is that students runs the whole thing. As station manager and music director, decisions were all pretty much up to me, and John sort of let the chips fall as they may, and let me learn from my mistakes. And, as most people know, you don't learn anything unless you make mistakes. : Even though I've moved on, I still listen to the station frequently, and I'll always look back at my years at WONC fondly.
