Despite what WFLD-Channel 32 would like you to believe, the Fox-owned station won't be the only outlet in town to see the Bears this season.

At least three Sunday night games will air on NBC-owned WMAQ-Channel 5, including the season opener Sept. 7 against Indianapolis, as well as Sept. 28 against Philadelphia and Nov. 30 against Minnesota.

If by chance the Bears make it to the Super Bowl, that game also would air on Channel 5.

In the final year of its deal with the Bears last season, Channel 5 was No. 1, averaging a 21.2 rating in adults between the ages of 25 and 54, compared with a 17.3 rating for the 10 regular season games on Fox.

"We enjoyed a great five-year partnership with the Bears. As we continue our local coverage of the Bears, we look forward to NBC's Sunday night broadcasts of at least three prime-time games this season," said Larry Wert, Channel 5's president and general manager. "And of course, we hope the Bears end up in the Super Bowl on NBC as well."
