WBBM-DT will be moving from Digital 3 to Digital 12 on June 12th. Also, the station is moving it's transmitter from Hancock Center to Sears Tower on that day.
The signal is supposed to improve after June 12th. This already should have happened, but you can blame the Democrats in Congress for the delay.
Furthermore, does anyone know why does this technology (digital TV) allow for such terrible reception with low number VHF channels in the first place? I know that WBBM-DT was assigned to Digital Channel 3 by the FCC, but you would think that they would be allowed to broadcast with enough wattage to adequately cover the entire Chicago metro area.
