Carol Bell, widow of Bob Bell, will be on hand Friday to accept her late husband's posthumous induction in the Silver Circle of the Chicago/Midwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

A staff announcer at Tribune Co.-owned WGN-Channel 9 for nearly three decades, Bell was best known as the gifted comic performer behind Bozo the Clown for 24 years. He retired in 1984 and died in 1997.

Other Silver Circle inductees this year are Renee Ferguson, Neal Sabin, Rich Samuels, Cheryl Stutzke, Joel Weisman, and Trio Video's Gary Meagher and Jack Walsh.

Hosted by father-and-daughter news anchors Bob Jordan and Karen Jordan, the event will be at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel.
