Fans invited to 'A Visit With Kathy & Judy'

Kathy O'Malley and Judy Markey, whose WGN-AM 720 show came to an end in May after 20 years, are inviting their fans to a charity event next month.

"A Visit With Kathy & Judy" will enable devotees of "The Girlfriends" to mix and mingle with the hosts as well as each other from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Chicago's Ann Sather Restaurant at 999 W. Belmont Ave.

There will be light refreshments available, including a sampler buffet of Ann Sather's specialties. Tickets will be $20, with advance reservations required; call the restaurant at (773) 348-2378. The restaurant's capacity is 150 people, a spokeswoman said.

Proceeds will benefit Broadway Youth Center of the Howard Brown Health Center.

O'Malley and Markey remain under contract to Chicago Tribune parent Tribune Co.'s WGN-AM into next year.
