: I turned on the Channel 2 11am news and I see Don Schwenker (sp?) as the meteorologist...has this been going on for awhile or is the regular guy just off for the week?

It's actually Don Schwenneker. I never knew he was a meteorologist either. Was he also anchoring? That'd be awkward. From his CBS2Chicago.com bio:

"Don Schwenneker is the co-anchor of CBS 2's Morning News from 5:00 AM-7:00 AM and the midday News at 11:00 AM.

Before becoming an anchor, Schwenneker served as a meteorologist for the station. He received a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society and holds a Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association.

Schwenneker joined CBS 2 as the weekend evening meteorologist in January 2008 and was quickly promoted to the 5:00 PM weekday newscasts. Previously Schwenneker worked as meteorologist at WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh (2000-2008). Before that Schwenneker was chief meteorologist at WTAJ-TV in Altoona, PA (1994-2000). He began his career as lead forecaster at KBIM-TV in Roswell, NM.

Schwenneker's career has roots in Chicago, as his first celebrity interview in broadcasting was with late Chicago Bear, Walter Payton.

He has been honored with two Associated Press Awards for Best Weathercast in New Mexico and in Pennsylvania.

Schwenneker and his wife, who is originally from Naperville, have three children."
