There is a new novel by Laura Caldwell called "Red, White & Dead" that was just released this week. The fictional story involves a former entertainment lawyer named Izzy McNeil, who now works for a private investigator. When she exposes a businessman as a Mafia criminal, trouble ensues. Steve Cochran fans already anticipated the local media connection: within the book, a WGN radio intern gets kidnapped. Even in fiction, these poor Columbia College kids can't catch a break.
