Famous Chicago DJ, Connie Szerszen has just published her autobiography, "Top Rock Girly Jock."

Connie was most recently known for being a voice talent on the late, great WJMK-FM/Magic 104.3. When CBS flipped the station to Jack-FM, she and her fellow Magic DJ's were forced onto Jack's HD channel, which made her the very first female voice ever heard on HD radio anywhere in the world. Long before that, Connie was the first female rock jock on Chicago radio, back when music was only really found on the AM dial. In addition to WJMK, Connie has worked at WCFL, WSDM, WIND, WJJD and WJEZ.

After so many years working in Chicago's radio industry, she decided to put her very interesting experiences into words and wrote her life story. Included in this book are numerous stories about her brushes with famous rock artists including her hunting down Elvis Presley inside a Chicago hotel, her date with Neil Diamond, partying with Sir Elton John, hanging out with Stevie Nicks and more. She also talks about how she lost a TV gig on ABC7 to some woman named Oprah Winfrey.

The book's title, "Top Rock Girly Jock" comes from one of her nicknames she picked up over her many years playing music on Chicago's airwaves. "The Polish Princess" was another of Connie's nicknames. On June 12, 1977, the Chicago Sun-Times had a cover story on Connie (in their Midwest Magazine insert inside their Sunday papers then) naming her "The Woman Who Invented Strip Radio."

The new book contains 352 pages and over 200 pictures. It is out now and can be ordered by clicking on the link below.
