This is a Radio TV and Media Site. So this is filed under Media. This weekend The Chicago Bears plan on Honoring The 10th anniversary of Mr. Walter Payton's untimely passing.
As a Life long resident of the Chicagoland area.I find it hard to swallow that The city of Chicago has fought to put a statue of a Heroic Chicagoan on Display in a prominent place for visitors to our Great city to see. Right out front of a stadium dedicated to our fallen Heroes.
When the City of Chicago took Solider Field and turned it into a spaceship on the Lakefront, They did MORE to dishonor our Fighting Men and Women of Wars past than to celebrate them.
Chicago will always be known for better or worst for, Al Capone, Crooked Politicians, The Cubs, The Bears, And Micheal Jordan. Oh yea, and that Chick that can Close down the streets of Chicago whenever she calls Da Mayer.
The Mayer has sold everything to get his Olympics. Oops! Mikey J has brought great joy to this city, But He Left. And He has a STATUUE! Walter Payton never left this city. He was every thing Chicago Stood for. Hard Work. The Man missed one game in his career. And to his dying day, He was pissed That he let the Team hold him out.
Walter was not the biggest guy, But he was the toughest SOB that Bears Fans have ever seen, And never took no shit from anybody. Every off season he out worked players with more talent, because he didn't want to let anybody down. This Man left the Game as the ALL TIME LEADING RUSHER!!!! He was our Babe Ruth of Football. He never left the City, He never left Team that he Loved. And he never left our Hearts, Why they are not unveiling a Statue to OUR HERO I'll never get! Mayor Daley.... This is your chance to do something good for OUR City that doesn't cost US BILLIons. PUT WALTER PAYTON where he Belongs!
