Wondering what happened to Stella Foster?

Chicago Sun-Times columnist Stella Foster will be away from the paper for the next few weeks. She has been suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, which she claims has come from her many years of typing, first for Irv Kupcinet and then her own newspaper column. She is having surgery this week to hopefully repair the damage and end her discomfort. The recuperation will take some time, but she thinks she will be back on the beat before the year is out.
