Tonight is Country Music's big event: The CMA Awards. US99.5 is down in Nashville, TN, where show will be broadcast live on ABC starting at 7:00pm.

The WUSN morning team of Lisa Dent & Ramblin' Ray Stevens will be talking live from the red carpet during the 4:00pm newscast on WLS-TV in just a short while. (Hmmmmm... the top radio hosts from a CBS station will be talking on an ABC television station... I guess the braintrust at WBBM-TV didn't want to mention a TV show event that airs on another network, despite the probability of increased ratings for a newscast...)

US99.5 & Drew Walker will also be doing a pre-show for the CMA's from now until 7:00pm, with reports from Lisa & Ray.

The CMA Broadcast Awards have already been handed out. WUSN was snubbed this year, despite being the country station in the largest market in America and being a ratings winner. Perhaps by their big presence at the actual ceremony this year, it will help grease the way for a CMA nod next year.

The Taylor Swift show... I mean the CMA's (Sorry. Easy mistake to make.) will begin in 3.5 hours from now. (At least Taylor Swift will be able to win a few awards without worrying about Kanye West cutting her off tonight. Now, if only her lack of singing skills without the use of recording studio trickery could cut her off from all of this attention she seems to keep getting...)
