With a heavy heart I am passing on some sad news about former DJ on WABT, WRXR, WMET, & host of WCKG's Breakfast With The Beatles, Mr. Red Muldoon. I've been informed by his friend, Cara Carriveau that Red is not doing well in his battle against cancer. His wife JoAnne is saying that he is not conscious right now, is having difficulty swallowing and may very well pass on at any time now.

Red made it clear to JoAnne that didn't want a tearful funeral, but instead wanted a "party atmosphere" there, although JoAnne is having a difficult time putting it together. Red's son Trevor wants to honor his Father's wishes. He's thinking of having a small service for Red and have a remembrance "party" soon after. JoAnne has asked Cara to help put together some music for this party, which could come as soon as next weekend. The services & party will be held in Munster, IN, as that is where Red & his family live.

For those of you who were friends, co-workers or long-time fans of Red Muldoon's, Cara is open to any & all suggestions you may have for music for this special occasion. Any song suggestions or MP3s can be emailed to Cara at Cara.Carriveau at Yahoo.com. She is also in need of pictures of Mr. Muldoon. Please scan those into your computer and email them to Cara, so she can pass them on to JoAnne.

If you know of anybody who was close to Red, please pass this rather sad & disappointing news on to them.

Red Muldoon, whose real name is David Omstead, was a beloved personality in Chicago and has been missed. He will unfortunately be even more missed after this week.

Heartfelt sympathies go out to Red's family during this awfully painful time.
