I worked with Red at WABT... I was a young punk in from MI just getting my feet wet and Red was doing a few weekend and fill-in shifts. It wasn't until I left the WABT that I was made aware of Red's history. I just figured he was some crazy old guy playing radio. He was one of the most genuine, honest people I've known. His sense of humor pushed the boundaries and that made him all the more fun to listen too... you honestly NEVER knew what was next.

I never kept in touch with Red after I moved on from the Wabbit. I just kind of assumed he's always be part of the Chicago radio landscape and would always be there. I would never be more than a dial turn away from hearing his voice and silly laugh. I guess I was wrong.

I am better a better person for having known him.
