Yes, I did listened to Greg Jarret debut Monday morning through several segments on WGN Radio and I found his morning drive program to be simply boring.

Thus I "really didn't think much of his show"!
WGN is in the hole it finds itself in through its own desire and very poor talent planning.

The retirement of Spike O'Dell was no news to anyone. Thus why wasn't WGN Radio's management looking for the right talent replacement long before Spike's retirement day?

To me, hiring an out-of-work West Coast broadcaster to fill a hugely critical on-air need is nothing more than a sign of desperation.

On the one hand "GN" claims that they want to reach a younger audience, but it can't be done with their present approach.

You only have to see the latest numbers and you'll read about a station that continues to come unglued in most of its time slots month in and month out.

Here's a station that was constantly delivering first or second place books month in and month out. Now it just can't deliver quality programming that people want to listen to.

Wait until Cubs play-by-play can no longer support the station as it has for years and you are going to see more desperate changes than what you have witnessed to date.

I think Chicago's radio audience is made up of pretty smart people. If they want news, they'll go to Newsradio 780 and if they want to be teased for a few hours, then there's WLS!
